July 12, 1948	Memo of the Directorate for Foreign Relations of the USSR Armed Forces General Staff about the Results of a Conference of Leaders of the Political Parties and Organizations of North and South Korea The statement describes the conference which took place in Pyongyang from June 29 to July 5. The main goal of the conference was to discuss the separate elections held in South Korea and possibilities for the unification of Korea. The North Korean representatives considered the National Assembly formed in South Korea to be illegitimate and urged for the expulsion of foreign powers in order to achieve a unified Korea.
May 2, 1949	Ciphered Telegram from Shtykov Soviet Ambassador to North Korea Shtykov reports that South Korean forces were being expanded with US assistance and that the government of President Syngman Rhee was taking steps to increase the combat readiness of its army.
June 27, 1950	Statement by the President, Truman on Korea Truman condemned North Korea's invasion of South Korea as a violation of international peace and the UN Charter and announced US air and naval support for South Korea. He also ordered the 7th Fleet to protect Formosa (Taiwan) and strengthened military support in the Pacific and Indochina.

May 26, 1949	Cable, Stalin to Mao Zedong [via Kovalev] Stalin gives to Mao (via Kovalev) his, Stalin's, stance on the economic situation in China, and how the Chinese are handling it (the creation of an administrative economic center in China). Stalin also discusses Sino-Soviet relations, and the state of the PLA and how best to use PLA forces.
