August 20, 1971	Letter, UNCURK Principal Secretary Kuzbari to UN Chef de Cabinet Narasimhan North and South Korean Red Cross organizations meet to undertake the reunion of separated families. Although the event is a step toward unification, UNCURK is doubtful that the North-South relationship will improve.
March 19, 1971	Letter, UNCURK Principal Secretary Kuzbari to UN Chef de Cabinet Narasimhan UNCURK members meet with Kim Dae Jung, who states his key issues for the election: ROK democracy, corruption within intelligence collection, suppression of opposition parties by the ruling party, and unification. UNCURK member observe that Kim's party is weak because of party factionalism. Additionally, President Park Chung Hee announces his run for third term and emphasizes economic and political stability.
March 12, 1971	Letter, UNCURK Principal Secretary Kuzbari to UN Chef de Cabinet Narasimhan In connection with the general election, the questions of President Park' Chung Hees electability, unification, and campaign finances are discussed.
February 26, 1971	Letter, UNCURK Principal Secretary Kuzbari to UN Chef de Cabinet Narasimhan Internationally, ROK government voices concern about the UN's two-China policy. Domestically, the NDP accuses the government of suppressing the opposition party's election campaign.
August 21, 1970	Letter, UNCURK Principal Secretary Kuzbari to UN Chef de Cabinet Narasimhan, Park Chung Hee's August 15 Address In a drastic change from previous policy, President Park Chung Hee called for the peaceful reunification of the peninsula. One of the prerequisites would be North Korea's uneqivocal acceptance of the competence and authority of the UN. Some believe that the strength of the ROK economy and SALT program may have prompted Park's change in attitude.
June 27, 1970	Letter, UNCURK Officer-in-Charge Osman to UN Chef de Cabinet Narasimhan In connection with the 20th anniversary of the Korean War, the governments of North Korea and South Korea have made statements on the requirements for unification. Additionally, North Korean agents infiltrated the ROK National Cemetery and attempted a bombing.
May 18, 1970	Letter, UNCURK Principal Secretary Kuzbari to UN Chef de Cabinet Narasimhan Principal Secretary Kuzbari updates Chef de Cabinet Narasimhan on the meeting between the commission and Park Chung Hee. Park states that he will never resort to the use of arms to reunite Korea and is opposed to the reduction of U.S. force reduction in Korea.
November 6, 1970	Letter, UNCURK Chairman Chote Klongvicha to UN Secretary-General U Thant Chairman of UNCURK Chote Klongvicha updates U Thant on the remote prospect of unification, North Korean infiltrations of the DMZ, and the planned reduction of U.S. military forces.
September 11, 1970	Letter, UNCURK Principal Secretary Kuzbari to UN Chef de Cabinet Narasimhan, Concerning ROK National Assembly Debates Principal Secretary of the UNCURK Zouheir Kuzbari updates Chef de Cabinet of the UN C.V. Narasimhan on the ROK National Assembly debates. The debates focused on ROK national security, unification, and US relations.
December 5, 1969	Letter, DPRK Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Concerning DPRK's Rejection of Korean Question Resolution DPRK Minister of Foreign Affairs Pak Seong-cheol releases a November 19 statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The statement conveys the DPRK's rejection of the UN's Korean question resolution, request for the withdrawal of foreign troops, dissolution of UNCURK, and Korean people's self-determined resolution.
