Subject: Foreign visits of the DPRK’s governmental delegations. Visit of Comrade Pak Seong-cheol [Pak Song Chol] to Hungary.
According to multiple confirmed sources, five DPRK governmental delegations left Pyongyang on February 10 as listed below:
- Five-member delegation to Cuba, Poland (February 21—25), and Hungary (February 25—29) led by Pak Seong-cheol (Worker’s Party of Korea Political Bureau member), the second vice premier of the DPRK’s Cabinet.
- Five-member delegation to UAR [United Arab Republic; Egypt], Syria, Iraq, and Bulgaria (March 5—10) led by Jeong Jun-taek [Jong Jun Thaek] (Worker’s Party of Korean Political Bureau member), the vice premier of the DPRK’s Cabinet.
- Four-member delegation to Congo, Mali, and other West African countries led by Kang Ryang-uk, the vice president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly.
- Five-member delegation to Romania (February 10—15), Czechoslovakia (February 15—18), GDR (February 18—22), Soviet Union (February 22—28), and Algeria lead by Heo Dam [Ho Dam] Minister of Foreign Affairs.
- Three-member delegation to South Yemen, Tanzania, and other African countries led by Kim Gyeong-yeon [Kim Kyong Yon], Minister of Finance.
Comrade Heo Dam was hosted by Comrade Ceaușescu in Bucharest.
According to the Czechoslovakian comrades, Comrades Husák, Svoboda, and Strougal are planned to host Comrade Heo Dam provided that the Soviet comrades are also hosting the guest with such high-ranking officials.
Comrade Pak Seong-cheol, the leader of the Korean delegation visiting Warsaw will be received by Comrades Gierek and Jarosewitz.
We would like to note that we do not have any information yet on who will receive the Korean delegations in Berlin, Moscow, and Sofia.
