U Thant and Nikita Khrushchev met on August 5, 1963, to discuss the upcoming signing of the Partial Nuclear Test Ban Treaty and broader disarmament efforts. They exchanged views on the role of the UN, non-nuclear zones, and the potential for future peace initiatives.

Chef de Cabinet of the United Nations writes to Mr. Jean Gazarian in acknowledgement of his receipt of the 25 August 1968 to 19 April Report of UNCURK and Principal Secretary of the United Nations Commission for the Unification and Rehabilitation of Korea Zouheir Kuzbari's letter. The statement concerns the United Nations Command in Korea from 7 July 1950 to 7 June 1963 and overviews the unified command under the United States, assistance of Member States, correspondences with the Security Council, and the detention of two United Nations Command officers.

Kuznetsov relays the results of a conversation between Mikoyan and U Thant. The bulk of the conversation between the two concerns U Thant’s recent visit to Cuba and his conversation with Castro. Mikoyan stresses lifting the quarantine around Cuba.

Soviet response to the new UN proposal based on the US and Soviet government’s approval. They also discussed a proviso in U Thant's first address forbidding ships arriving in Cuba from carrying weaponry, a new American proposal and the Soviet inability to discuss actions to be taken on Cuban territory.
