September 16, 1980	Saddam Hussein and His Advisers Discussing Iraq's Decision to Go to War with Iran Transcript of a meeting between Saddam Hussein, the National Command and the Revolutionary Command Council discussing the military situation during the Iran-Iraq War, mainly regarding the disputed territory along the Shatt Al-'Arab river.
March 1, 1987	Saddam and His Advisers Discussing the Importance of Morale, Mobilizing Popular Support, and Targeting Iranian Cities Transcript of a meeting between Saddam Hussein and other unidentified Iraqi Ba'ath party members. The meeting specifically discussed raising morale and mobilizing popular support--including how to discourage retreats from the front. Also includes discussion of chemical weapons.
1982	Saddam Hussein Meeting with His Cabinet to Discuss the 1982 Budget Transcript of an audio file containing a meeting between Saddam Hussein and the Cabinet to discuss the 1982 budget. They discuss the requirements of the various ministries and the need for financial austerity. They discuss the implications for various sectors--health, education, services, agriculture, and others. They discuss defense expenditures as well. Inflation and food prices are also mentioned. Saddam discusses the patriotism of the Iraqi people.
May 20, 1969	Letter from Gamal Abdel Nasser sent to Haxhi Lleshi This document is a letter from the United Arab Republic President Gamal Abdel Nasser to Haxhi Lleshi, the Chairman of the Presidium of the People’s Council of the People's Republic of Albania. President Nasser appreciates the support of the People’s Republic of Albania for the UAR struggle against imperialism and Zionism. Nasser reveals that the policy of the UAR is based on the principle of non-alignment in order to decrease the chance of hostilities between the two blocs and to increase the prospect of peace. In addition, the UAR objects having foreign bases or foreign troops on its territory and asks for their liquidation elsewhere. In the case of a Soviet ship anchoring at a UAR port, this does not imply that the Soviet Union uses that port as its own base. Nasser also adds that the United States openly supports Israel and its 6th Fleet is a sign of an American guarantee to Israel in its ventures directed against the UAR. On the other hand, the presence of Soviet fleet units in the Mediterranean has hindered the transformation of the region into an American lake. As a consequence, the Soviet presence in the Mediterranean establishes equilibrium there. This document contains both the original Arabic letter and the Albanian translation of the original.

Also includes discussion about British Journalist Farzad Bazoft who was arrested as an Iranian spy working for Israel and Britain.
June 15, 1955	Intelligence Brief Submitted by Hassan Tuhami, Head of the Intelligence Branch at the President’s Office, to Gamal Abd al-Nasser President Nasser discusses with the Russian ambassador a possible arms deal between the USSR and Egypt due to Egyptian fear of Israeli aggression backed by Britain and the United States.
June 18, 1955	Intelligence Brief Submitted by Hassan Tuhami, Head of the Intelligence Branch at the President’s Office, to Gamal Abd al-Nasser Egyptian Head of Intelligence Tuhami briefs President Nasser on the need to continue negotiating an arms deal with the Soviet Union.
February 20, 1979	Saddam and High-Ranking Officials Discussing Khomeini, the Ethiopian-Eritrean conflict, the Potential for Kurdish Unrest, and the Iranian Economy Transcript of a meeting between Saddam and some Iraqi diplomatic personnel dated 20 February 1979. The meeting's main issue was Iran and Khomeini. One of the attendants asked Saddam if there is any possibility of turbulence in Iranian Kurdistan due to the internal chaos of the Iranian government. And if so, how would it affect Iraqi Kurdistan. They talked about the Iranian economy and the Iranian army. They said that the Iranian air force contains mostly American jets and it was built on American experience. Secondly they had a discussion about Eritrea and the diplomatic relationship between Iraq and Eritrea.
January 1, 1980	General Military Intelligence Directorate Report Assessing Political, Military, and Economic Conditions in Iran This file contains a top secret intelligence report about Iran, issued by the General Military Intelligence Directorate (GMID), dated 01 January 1980 to 30 June 1980. mThe report includes information about the political, economic and military situation in Iran, including political system of the Iranian regime, information about different political parties in Iran, information about opposing Iranian groups, the crisis in the Iranian economy due to the sanctions and decrease in oil exporting, Iranian economic relations and activities, the status of different Iranian military units, and information about the Iranian navy and the air force.
October 1980	Saddam Hussein and Senior Iraqi Officials Discussing the Conflict with Iran, Iraqi Targets and Plans, a Recent Attack on the Osirak Reactor, and Various Foreign Countries This file contains a transcript of a meeting about the Iran-Iraq War held in October 1980 with Saddam Hussein and high Iraqi officials such as the Minister of Defense, the Chief of Staff of the Army, and the Director of Military Intelligence. Contains discussions regarding the status of Iran-Iraq War and current military plans and preparations to resist Iranian raids effectively by air and sea. Includes discussion about several attacks by Israeli fighters on an Iraqi nuclear reactor and discussion of military operations and targets in Iran.
