Marchais, Georges 1920 - 1997

A summary of the French Communist Party's meeting with the delegation from the Chinese Communist Party led by Xi Zhongxun and Qiao Shi, in which they introduce domestic situations and China's foreign policy on Cambodia and Afghanistan.

This document dated November 6, 1982 is a report from Antonio Rubbi on a meeting he had with the Chinese chargé d’affaires on November 5th. He had been ordered to inform the PCI, the only party to be informed, of the visit of Marchais to China. During the meeting with Hu Yaobang, he states that China is leading player is defending world peace. Both the USSR and USA are to blame for current unrest in their quest for hegemony.

In November 1983, a high-level delegation from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), led by Politburo member Xi Zhongxun, visited France at the invitation of the French Communist Party (PCF) to strengthen bilateral relations and implement a cooperation program established in 1982.
