This issue contains the text of Zhou Enlai's "Report on the Work of the Government," originally delivered on June 26, 1957. It also contains a protest of the United States' violation of the Korean armistice agreement by importing "new weapons" to South Korea, a note to the British Government protesting the UK's intervention in allowing Chiang Kai-shek's regime to land an aircraft in Hong Kong and bring supporters to Taiwan, Bulgaria-China economic relations, China-Czechoslovakia economic relations, and increasing cooking oil production.

Amid pending changes in the early Clinton administration to burden sharing, the British were trying to pin down on what basis estimates of cost were being made on US Forces in Korea.

Minutes of the Visit of a Delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the People’s Republic of Poland (PRL) in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea

Paek Hak-rim suggests stepping up cooperation between North Korea and Poland in the fields of science, technology, and firefighting, as well as continuing exchange visits to share experiences in maintaining public order and combating crime. Kim Yong-ryong also suggests that information exchanges and technical cooperation be enhanced.

Transcript of Conversation between Zhou Enlai and Bernard Law Montgomery

Premier Zhou speaks with Viscount Montgomery of Alamein about propositions to ease international tensions. Zhou agrees with Montgomery's three propositions one of which is withdrawal of foreign troops from other countries territory. Zhou proposes withdrawal of U.S. troops from South Korea and Taiwan cross straits. Also, on the Taiwan issue, Zhou says that there is only one China and Taiwan is a part of China. Zhou believes that Taiwan issue is a internal domestic issue that should not be discussed by the UN.
